Baked Lasagna Recipe

Ingredients:
9 lasagna noodles, cooked
1 egg, beaten
2 cups ricotta cheese
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
2 cups mozzarella cheese, grated
3 cups red sauce
Sauce:
1 tbsp honey
1 onion finely chopped
4 garlic cloves minced
2 tbsp dried basil
1 tbsp dried oregano
extra virgin olive oil
1/2 cup red wine
1/4 cup water
2 tbsp tomato paste
3 28oz cans crushed tomatoes
1 tbsp crushed red peppers
salt & pepper to taste
Instructions:
Lasagna : In a large bowl mix beaten egg, Parmesan cheese, and ricotta cheese. In the bottom of a large baking dish (9 x 13) spread 1/2 cup sauce on the bottom then place 3 lasagna noodles on the top then spread 1/2 the ricotta mixture on top of the noodles and add a little mozzarella over it as well. Next spread about 3/4 cup red sauce on top of that and place the next layer of noodles on top. Repeat this process until you end up with the last layer of noodles on top. Poor the rest of the sauce on top of the Lasagna noodles and top with some more mozzarella cheese.
Sauce: Heat the oil in a large pot add the onion garlic and dry herbs and cook until onions are translucent. Next add red wine, tomatoes, tomato paste, water and honey. Bring to boil salt and pepper to taste and let simmer for 25-30 minutes. Taste and adjust for seasoning.
